Grassroots sport changes lives. Local clubs give young people structure, purpose, and a positive place to belong — keeping kids off the streets and involved in constructive, confidence-building activities.

My journey started in a powerlifting club that opened doors far beyond the gym. As a youth, it gave me mentorship, discipline, and my first job — providing guidance and opportunity at a time when it mattered most.

Through the club, I was given life-changing opportunities, including travelling internationally, chaperoning teams to Norway, competing at World Championships in France, and representing the sport at the highest levels — including a formal meeting with Her Royal Highness Princess Anne. Experiences like these expanded my horizons, built confidence, and showed what is possible when young people are supported early.

Everything I’ve achieved traces back to the grassroots level — to a local club that believed in me, a young boy from social housing who lacked real role models.

Through Gamerz Parties, that belief is being paid forward by investing in young people, supporting local clubs, and creating positive alternatives for youth.

Gaming and sport go hand in hand — both teach discipline, teamwork, goal-setting, and healthy competition. Gamerz Parties uses gaming as a reward, not a replacement, encouraging physical activity, training, and participation in sport by recognising commitment, effort, and positive choices.
